(No ME3 spoilers... just headcanon.)
My own super-duper sugar-sweet rainbows and sunshine ending, which I would've drawn regardless of what the actual ending was like. It certainly didn't help that I've been re-watching Rugrats on Netflix lately.
This was intended to take place a few years after the Reaper War.
I'd loosely headcanoned that Renna
and Garrus would adopt human and turian kids a while back, but I added in a krogan because...
I gave Renna her ME1 scars back, and she has a leg brace because I say some of her cybernetics got fried in battle, so she needs it to walk. I originally was going to have both her legs need braces, but then I decided on just one so she can carry her kids without falling over... Wow, I must sound so morbid right there, lol.
Garrus has no visor because
I forgot until it was too late to change
nothing says "retired" for him like having no visor! ........
*cough* >.> He'll still wear it when he goes out, of course.
Before ME3 came out, I actually bought a ton of ME stuff, including the two ME1 DLCs (I didn't really know
what DLCs were other than map packs until DAO, lol), so the background was inspired by the apartment/retirement home that Shepard can win on a bet at Pinnacle Station (which I did for both Renna and Dwayne), but no refs because...yeah I don't have a reason.
The saddest part (referring to myself here) is that while sketching this, I wound up headcanoning what all the kids would grow up to be, and while inking/coloring I started wanting to play as them in ME3 multiplayer. D: (I played MP in the demo, but I don't want to pay the XBL subscription to play it >.<)
So, Sotiren, the turian, will be a biomedical engineer so he can help people like his mommy. Hedia, the human, will become a cop (lol poor Garrus)
, probably C-Sec (her grandpa would be so proud *sniff*)
if blahblahspoilersrantblah. Dav (id Anderson), the krogan, will start up a five-star restaurant that serves both levo- and dextro-amino dishes, after going through his Rite, of course.
sure I've reached a new level of fangirl nerdiness for this, haha.
Ironically, I was listening to the All Quiet on the Western Front audiobook while coloring this...
Okay, that's enough wall of text for now! Edit:
Went back to tweak a few things that were bothering me, namely the omni-tool and Normandy holo and the lights involved with that, the fish tank lights, and the horizon on the background out the window. I uploaded the original version here, in case anyone had a preference to it: [link]
